The platform bed’s design accommodates either a 54-inch full or 60-inch queen mattress. With its lustrous pure black finish and low height, the platform frame suits contemporary and classical interior design motifs alike. The bed frame not only provides a supportive, stylish base to set a mattress upon, but it also offers two drawers inside the platform for stowing pajamas, an extra blanket, or pillow shams.

The platform frame is constructed out of laminated engineered wood and completely recycled fibers. Each drawer opens with a pull to its metal handle, rolling with ease on the metal tracks. To ensure safe drawer opening and closing, the slides come equipped with dampers and stops. The platform frame fits together with a matching headboard, available for additional purchase, along with additional Step One collection furniture pieces. Likewise, the bed frame requires the separate acquisition of a mattress. The bed frame arrives shrink-wrapped and ready for adult home assembly. In the event of defective parts or workmanship, South Shore offers a limited five-year warranty after online product registration. The bed frame measures 80-1/2 inches long by 61-4/5 inches wide by 9 inches high and weighs 136 pounds.

When used with a full matress, a fringe of the Black finished top surface will be visible on each side and at the foot of the mattress. This bed is made of recycled CARB compliant particle pannels.
